[vc_row text_align=”justify”][vc_column][vc_column_text]Oh my! It’s only eight in the morning, and the sun is already scorching. What used to be pre-summer days in the old calendar have become full-blown sunny times. Even the morning walk comes with its share of heat attacks and sweat shows!
And so it is time to rearrange the beauty table and line up the army for the defence against the sun. Summer demands extra care for the skin, especially the face since it is more exposed to the sun, heat, and humidity.
But it does not mean putting on layers and layers of makeup to guard the facial skin against tanning and drying up. During these hot days, it’s best to keep makeup to a minimum. If you do wear it, opt for a lightweight, water-resistant formula that won’t clog your pores or melt off in the heat.
What I have set up on my table are sunscreen lotions, moisturisers and cleansers that are soft on the skin while doing the hard task of lessening the sun effect. Want a few tips on staying fresh and radiant during these hot days? Here are some of my tested tricks to protect the face and pamper it during summer days.
- Use a gentle cleanser: If you have been using a chemical-rich formula to clean the face, it is time to switch to a gentle, non-drying cleanser that won’t strip your skin of its natural oils. Cleanse your face twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.
- Wear sunscreen: That is the no-compromise summer care policy. Protect your skin from harmful UV rays by wearing broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30. Apply it generously on your face and neck every day, and reapply every two hours if you’re outdoors.
- Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. You can also use a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser to help lock in moisture and prevent dryness.
- Use facial mists: Not tried them yet? Then, this is the right time to start a new routine. Keep a facial mist in your purse to refresh and hydrate your skin throughout the day. Look for mists that contain soothing ingredients like aloe vera, cucumber, or rosewater.
- Exfoliate: Use a gentle exfoliator once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and keep your complexion looking fresh and glowing. Avoid harsh scrubs that can irritate the facial skin.
Remember, the key to pampering your face during summer days is to keep it clean, hydrated, and protected from the sun’s harmful rays. Ensure the products you use are natural and gentle on your skin.
